How Much Does Twitch Pay Per Sub?
Updated August 2026 · 5 min read
So a viewer just paid $4.99 for a Tier 1 sub. How much of that lands in your pocket? Under Twitch's standard 50/50 split, you keep half. Here's exactly what that shakes out to for every tier.
Payout by sub tier
- Tier 1 ($4.99): $2.50 to you
- Tier 2 ($9.99): $5.00 to you
- Tier 3 ($24.99): $12.50 to you
- Prime sub: ~$2.50 to you
Gifted subs pay the same
Whether a viewer subscribes themselves or gifts a sub to someone in chat, you earn the same per-tier payout. This is why a big sub train during a special stream can suddenly feel like a payday — 100 gifted Tier 1s is roughly $250, all at once.
Top partners earn more
Real talk: the 50/50 split isn't forever. High-performing partners can negotiate down to a 30% Twitch cut, which bumps each Tier 1 sub from $2.50 to closer to $3.50. It's a nice raise — but you usually need the viewer numbers to earn that leverage first.
